The German-Kurdish textbook, now successfully published in its 6th edition, was first published in 1999 by the Institut für Kurdische Studien Berlin. The publisher now provides an easy introduction to the German language with a modified, more compact version:
The book Deutsch lernen leicht gemacht aims at Kurds whose native language is Central Kurdish (Soranî) and who wish to acquire an up-to-date basic vocabulary of everyday cultural and administrative use.
This volume is divided into chapters that are less extensive than the ones of textbooks used in academic contexts. In addition to useful general vocabulary, vocabulary relevant to specific and typical situations is included. For example, the topics of food and drink, housing, public inscriptions, and culture and leisure are covered. Some of the thematically structured chapters offer, in addition to the necessary basic vocabulary, simple phrases that should make the first official visits in public institutions, the search for housing, and visits to the doctor easier.
The book is a useful support for managing everyday life in German and facilitates learning simple conversations for quick communication.
